Guys thanks for the review it looks like an awesome game! Can I just please ask... how do you not have a better camera for close ups of board games? It's like you are using a phone cam from 1999, the wuality is terrible and fuzzy and it ruins the impact of your videos. It's so bad we can't even read the larger text on the board. Please improve this!

The problem is most players are selfish, greedy, dumb and will make u lose and ironically themselves lose by not understanding keeping balance of power. For instance how many times do we see a player with a lead advantage and instead of a weaker player opting to attack them and team up with another weaker player so to speak, they will attack a weaker player to own a continent or hoping the stronger player wont retaliate this ensuring victory for the player with a lead ultimately. The problem with playing games with other people is that most people have no common sense and are dumb. So if u are a person with above average intelligence and u are not playing w other players of above average intelligence it results in not a great gaming experience. Thus is life. Sureounded by idiots.

Bought this in 1985, I was in the Air Force with a boring desk job and living in the barracks which was just as boring. I took the rulebook to work and read the sections and when I next had a day off, played the scenarios. Great game. I later purchased Cross of Iron and Crescendo of Doom but was disappointed as the level of complexity just got too much to keep up with and I always played these games solitaire. Computer wargaming has changed everything now anyway. PS. I do like the Streets of Stalingrad scenario with tanks and flamethrowers but also Hill 621 is a favorite of mine as well, all those Soviet troops pouring out of the town.

With my group of friends who played almost every week, a lot of times you would see the board left alone and everyone huddled to discuss possible treaties or alliances. By far my favorite game.

The visuals helped but most of this was you just reading from the rule book. Gmt rulebooks are notorious for the way the content is laid out. It would have been very helpful if the content was rearranged so there was more of a natural flow

I'm still loving this game. Only played with the leaders expansion once which was nice, but I like the base game just as much. The puzzle is always a little bit different depending on the cards you get, spaces getting blocked etc. It hits the right amount of complexity for me.

Dont follow the first strategy i followed it bought everything and even bought houses to create a house shortage then a community chest card came and it aaked me for repair work on my properties pay 25 per house owned and 100 per hotels and since i had bought lots of houses i had to pay a huge amount and thus i lost the game

after 4 years this game still has no AI opponent. it is a BOT that plays cards in order and doesn't activate the opponents events when played. purchased on steam and refunded within five minutes. dont bother.

This is definitely a current favorite of mine. I'm curious if you've tried the expedition leaders. They add a nice bit of asymmetry to the game. I also like the solitaire mode in this, which is how I typically play. And to that end, the recent solitaire campaign expansion is fabulous.

Best tip is to fight wars without shooting any bullets, do this by manipulating players against eachother

And a big vote for the Stock Car Racing Championship Card Game. I spent way too much money buying car and track decks for this game!

Ever heard of "Ave Caesar"? A little silly, but fun. No, I wouldn't put it in my Top 5, but only because it's too rare. Also, this is a bit early since Championship Formula Racing just got updated and re-released.

PLEASE SLOW DOWN! You went way too fast and lost me at the 4:13 mark. Creating a “fast video in about 10 minutes!” isn’t necessarily helpful. I would have preferred you do a 20-30 minute video with clearer instructions.

A similar one to Thunder Road is Tiny Turbo Cars if the controls mechanism doesnt turn you off. With betting like Downforce i would say Camel Up, Unicorn Fever, and Divinity Derby.

Speed Circuit is still my favourite, I have played one game of Thunder Ally and it comes close.

Thunder Road is my absolute favorite. Tons of mayhem and plenty of strategy. But for me, Formula D is much too light with little real strategy.

Curious, as a wargamer would you rather play with miniatures & rulers or hex & counters?

Not bad. I'm a hard core auto racing fane and have dozens of auto racing games many of which few have heard of. TA, Heat and Formula D, Flame Rouge are the only ones I would consider "racing" games. Downforce is the fourth game using that system. I like the mechanics of TA and think it has the best pit mechanics. I do feel the permanent damage is a little overdone. Heat, is for the board game newbies, sort of a racing Wingspan. You have to get into all the optional rules and car modification to make it shine, you really have to play the advanced version. I enjoyed this one, thanks for doing it. 🙂

I loved this format. Do more videos like this. Honourable mention to “Pitch Car”, a dexterity finger flicking race game.

My favorite is Speed Circuit. Admittedly, I have not played very many.

As I only have experience with two racing games that being DoWonder's Heat and A. Hill's Circus Maximus, I am therefore partial to Heat, but I am still searching for a Speed Racer themed game or close proximity to.

My wife and I love Camel Up! And also, you could include Timber Tom. Timber Tom should be highlighted as Marco Bing (from France) created his own game. It is totally different from any other game and the components are incredible!

I like twixt because every move makes or breaks the game. Tak and Shobu are also fantastic games.

If you take 1 set of the player cards you can lay them out side by side and it forms a long panoramic image which is a lovely touch. I really like the art in this game.

We covered this many years ago, but we did not have the cool graphics.

Great guide, however the stock clips are completely unnecessary and make me wish there was an Adblock like stock blocker :D

Yesterday I played Prelude to Rebellion (designed by Marco Poutré) and it was a heck of a lot of fun. Takes place in Québec in the 1830's.

I still have my copy of Canadian Civil War (SPI). There was a Canadian game called Poleconomy, which was quite fun. It was sort of a mix of Monopoly where you would own Canadian companies, so they must have licensed the logos to make it. On top of that, there was a parliament so that you could become Prime Minister and handle the public purse. We had fun making up tax laws. At the time I didn't really appreciate how it illustrated the corrupt state of the world, which is arguably worse now than it was back then. My copy of Quebec 1759 appears to have the same map, but the blocks have the white squares stamped right on them, no stickers. The publisher was called Gamma Two games back then, with the same logo.
